Thank you for getting us through the primary!
Juan is a dedicated public servant with a passion for transparent, responsible governance in the Federal Way community. As a Communications Aide for the Washington State Legislature, he bridges critical information gaps between government and residents, with a special focus on ensuring Spanish-speaking community members have equal access to important information through his leadership of translation initiatives.
Juan brings a perspective centered on fiscal responsibility and efficient service delivery to every role he undertakes. His commitment to community engagement extends beyond professional responsibilities, as he serves as a Speech and Debate Coach, mentoring young people in developing essential communication and critical thinking skills. Additionally, he has organized and hosted candidate forums that create spaces for open dialogue between community members and those seeking to represent them.
Understanding that essential services like water and sewer systems are foundational to community wellbeing, Juan has developed a deep appreciation for the critical infrastructure that supports Federal Way's families and businesses. The Lakehaven Water and Sewer District—managing 400 miles of water mainline, 350 miles of sewer mainline, 22 wells, 12 storage tanks, and two wastewater treatment plants—provides vital services to 112,000 residents daily, and Juan is committed to ensuring these operations continue with excellence.
Juan believes that good governance starts with being present in the community. When elected to the Lakehaven Water and Sewer District Board, he will work tirelessly to maintain the district's exemplary record of fiscal responsibility while ensuring infrastructure investments deliver maximum value to residents. His priorities include improving transparency and accessibility for all district residents and keeping rates affordable while planning prudently for future needs.
Juan's approach to public service is straightforward: listen to community concerns, make informed decisions based on data and best practices, and remain accountable to the people he serves. He looks forward to bringing this commitment to the Lakehaven Water and Sewer District and would be honored to earn your support.
